RAMAIAH
HOUSE, BANGALORE
The design springs from the sites natural features beginning with
a rock outcrop at the high point from which the land slopes down towards
the view of an adjacent lake. The house is laid out to integrate a swimming
pool and a reflecting pond into this view sequence; and the major public
spaces are transparent halls that allow the continuity of the eye across
this landscape. While transparency and material finishes make the house
interior very contemporary, the exposed stone walls and sloping roof give
it more traditional sense of home.
