LEARNING CENTRE, BANGALORE

The project was to juxtapose two distinctive functions - a state-of-the-art Learning Centre and a canteen for a factory in an existing industrial campus.
Taking advantage of the existing level difference at site, a clear sense of entry for both the distinct functions was created by lifting the geometric volume of the Learning Centre, thus accommodating a double height canteen. The kitchen and services were placed in an "L" shaped arrangement towards the factory and material yard, disconnecting the canteen from the industrial character, in-turn, directing the canteen views diagonally towards the verdant courts and existing trees. The Learning Centre recesses to contain landscaped terraces constituting a community space for student - professional interactions.
